Our Partnership

The Carter’s Charitable Foundation sponsors Sheltering Arms’ Operation Storybook Read-a-thon, a program designed to instill an interest in reading in children.

Carter’s partners with Sheltering Arms throughout the year to provide volunteer opportunities for employees. Employees have the opportunity to read to students, help with crafts, and engage during play time.

In 2014, Carter’s employees wrapped and donated a pair of pajamas and a book for every child at all 15 Sheltering Arms centers.

During 2015, and in partnership with the Alliance Theatre, Carter’s will bring two performances of Theatre for the Very Young to every Sheltering Arms center to allow all students to enhance their education with a theatre performance.

Virtual Read to Me

A few minutes can change a life.

Two-thirds (2/3) of Georgia’s children cannot read on grade level by the time they get to 3rd grade.

Inspire a love of reading and make it fun by sharing some of our pre-selected e-books and animated films.

Engage students in fun, short activities between lessons that recharge the brain and refocus students!
